Tokyo born visual artist Chino Otsuka has been heading back in time to revisit photographs from her childhood as part of ongoing project ‘Imagine Finding Me’, where her time machine comes in the form of Adobe Photoshop. She now lives in London, but still manages to slot herself into images from as far as 30 years in past to create a ghostly companion for her former self. This is photobombing at its finest.
I’m not even entirely sure she’s an artist, its obvious she’s a time lord who’s been revisiting better times, or possibly even to instil some knowledge into childhood self. Her former self doesn’t seem that bothered though, does she? Maybe this is evidence of imaginary friends? Could these weird monster like creatures your kid sister warbled on about be her future self revising the past? I’m going down conspiracy lane so I’ll park the car on that note.
